Farewell!

Well for those that don't already know, and there is a lot of buzz going around, Steve and Danielle have been appointed to the Australia South Territory. Their appointments become effective March 1st. They have been the founding forces for 614 Vancouver, but their next appointments, Steve - Assistant Personell Secretary: Leadership/Officer Development & Danielle- Territorial Social Justice Director, are perfectly positioned. God will bless them and use them in a tremendous way.

So I noticed the other day that the last post was mine on Oct 31, but didn't post. I was thinking about what to post when I thought, time for some recruiting.

Then, here I am posting, and I saw Megan post, Yeah. I thought this blog had died down. I just want to update everyone on how's it is going over here in Vancouver. What can I say, A LOT!! Elaine was with us last week. She has a wealth of knowledge, and I must say she challenged me on a lot of my thought patterns to do with how the church has lost a lot of it's Jewish heritage, because of various historical events. Anyways, she helped us to start to reconnect with our heritage; thanks Elaine.

Had freedom day yesterday (Mon Dec 4). Hard to explain. God has been freeing me from lots of stuff from my past, and I don't mind sharing some of the details. Yesterday was a culmination of all TWC had been working through. Lots of people got freedom from lots of stuff. Well for me, fear was a major breakthrough. Also I was able to forgive people that hurt me in the past. That was a huge load off my back. I was also got freedom from some sexual stuff from my past. HUGE burden now gone. Never told anyone about it until yesterday. Very big relief!

Term 1 is now official over and I arrive back in Ontario on the 21st. I'm excited to go home again.

If you are thinking of coming to the War College, I recommend it. I don't want this to be a deterrent, but I feel I must say that it is hard. There has been a few times that I've wanted to throw in the towel, but I am so glad I haven't. The bonds you form with your session-mates is indescribable. They are truly your support probably FOREVER.
Anyways, talk to you all later.

what it's all about

like many of you, I have gotten caught up in my school activities, school marks, working jobs, music, etc. Probably worst is that I have been caught up trying to make money to do God's will in the future but forgetting or just not doing his will for right now. By sacrificing his will now to provide for the future it's like saying I don't trust God to provide for the future and I will just make my own way on his path. But God reminded me of this on Sunday and I'd like to share it with you because it changed the way I think.

Yesterday a man walked to the front of my church and knelt down at the mercy seat. He was weathered and worn, as tough as nails but as fragile as a porcelain vase just waiting to crack. His face was tanned like leather; the lines on his face were a sign of a life lived lost and lonely in the cold shadows of the world.
I'll never forget his face.

He came up to the front in the song "Open our eyes, Lord" just before the sermon. I have never seen someone come up to the mercy seat before the sermon. That mercy seat has not been used for a long time.
There was something about him that told me he was so desperate to see Jesus; something about that song that called him to the Lord. He really wanted to see Jesus. He overcame shame and dignity, which can sometimes hold us back from walking that long way up to the mercy seat, because they didn't matter any more, only Jesus did.

For a moment it was as if our congregation stopped still, or rather I could feel thier hearts stop still, as we all kept singing along.

When he knelt down at the altar, it was then that I heard God say, "This is what it's all about; its all about seeing the lost come back to their Father God."
Prayers were offered up for our brother and the chorus was sung a few more times. Our church is usually pretty by-the-book, so this was a little strange; it was different because it needed to be. We had a lesson to learn.

As that man stood up from the mercy seat, I noticed he had tears streaming down his face. And in that instant I saw Jesus. Jesus tells us to look out for the least of our brothers as if it were himself. That man was the least of our brothers. But in that moment, he was also Jesus appearing to me and he was weeping because of how far we have gone from what its all about, for how many have lost sight of what its all about.

I've been meaning to volunteer time to serve the homeless at one of our mobile kitchens/hang-outs, but I've been caught up in school and in work, trying to get money to serve God NEXT year. I can't sacrifice his will for me now to provide a way for his will for me next year. He will make that way, but I've got to live for him now.
I've got to call that volunteer service.

There are so many that are lost from God, and we see hundreds of them walk past us every day, over and over, hundreds and thousands of people who don't know the way. If you don't know what is like to feel lost, it is terribly scary, cold, you feel like there is no where to go and no hope to find somewhere; being lost is one of the worst experiences in life. God doesn't want his children to be lost. Imagine how horrified your parents, or you, would be if your child was lost! He wants his children to find him!

On Sunday I learned that helping God's lost children find thier way back is what its all about. It's not about computers, entertainment, or buildings, its not about the money or fame, its not about the future or the past, and its not about getting gifts or opportunities for yourself this season. It's about what God thinks it should be about. And today God told me that it's all about bringing his lost children back to his church.

Danielle is addressing Parliament on behalf of our War College Campus. The downtown Eastside of Vancouver is notorious for prostituted peoples. Danielle heads up a special task force on this injustice and God has granted her an address. Pray Matt 10:20, "You will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles. 19 But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak; 20 for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you."

I An A Citizen Of Heaven

Hey All!

I just wanted to share a story of something that happened to me this week.
On my msn name I have had 'I Am A Citizen Of Heaven' since after I've come home from TSOMAGA because it was my favourite 'I Am' saying. A few people commented on it right after I put it up, but nobody has lately until this week. A friend from high school, who isn't a chirstian, asked me why I was a citizen of heaven. My answer was that I was a Child of God! Then I said because I am a christian. Then he asked me how I knew I was going to get into heaven and how he could prove his beliefs to God. And I just gave him striaght forward answers. Which was really different for me because I never talked a lot about God with this person before, we barely even talk, so he really surprised me when he asked.
So I would like to ask that everyone could pray that his heart will be softened to accept the Gospal and that something I said will stick with him and he will want to know Jesus and his Saviour!
And to anyone that is feeling discouraged about their faith or feeling like they aren't doing enough for God, don't worry He will bring the people to you!

Combatting Fat Heart

I think I'm stuck on the fat heart thing. I've been meditating on it. Last night I kept having a recurring picture. It was of a heart that was encapsulated with layers of fat. In order for the heart to function properly the fat had to be removed. Layer by layer the fat was burned away.
I asked the Lord how do you get rid of the fat that has accumulated around our hearts. Again my thought went back to Daniel. Instead of gratifying his desires with the fat of the king's table he chose to deny himself. Oh, Oh... it sounds like a cross thing. The key to burning away fat is fasting.
So often we just say yes to whatever our impulses or desires are. I feel like a piece of pizza. I go get some pizza. I feel like watching T.V.. So I watch T.V. I feel like listening to music. I listen to music. Whatever urge or desire I have I can usually just do it. When I reflect on it I can easily just live my life responding to my own personal desires and never learn to deny myself anything. After all why should I have to. Everything I need I can get. I have the means and the access to it. But what does this kind of living do to me spiritually? Is there ever any cross bearing or self denial?
So I've started some fat burning exercises. After a hard day of house work, childcare, serving the masses when I feel like vegging in front of the T.V.... I say "no" to myself and pick up a book - right now it's about a missionary in Equador - new book - and read.
When I feel like running out to a movie and munching on a big bag of buttered popcorn... I say "no" to myself (until I'm in Vancouver with Danielle) and stay home and play Scrabble with Caitlyn.
When I feel like going out to eat a Big Mac... I say no to myself and Hannah and go home and make a scrambled egg fajita thing. (Trying to eat healthy)
When I'm boiling hot in the summer and feel like installing air conditioning... I say "no" to myself and choose to send the money to another country to help purchase a well so a whole community has safe water to drink.
When I feel like I'm stuck spiritually - Bible reading is hard - prayerlessness is taking root... I say "no" to myself and fast and pray for a few days.
For many of us it can be a new discipline to say "no" to our desires. This actually can be a revolutionary practice. Say "no" to some impulses in your life and be led by Holy Spirit as to what the replacement should be. It may be more time in the Word. New activities, habits and adventures!

Fat Heart

I was reading through Psalm 119 today and stumbled across a passage that arrested my attention. Listen to this...
"Their heart is covered with fat, But I delight in Your law."
Through out the Psalm the writer is fixated on the statutes and law of the Lord. He longs to walk fully in God's boundaries, in what God decrees as just, in God's customs and regulations. He wants to conform the pattern of His life after God's blueprint. This is the writer's constant request to YHWH.
In contrast to this are other people who live their lives according to their own desires. Through their living their hearts become fattened or callous/unfeeling.
When I read the word fat and then looked it up in the Hebrew translation I immediately thought of Daniel in the courts of Babylon and how he was enticed to eat the fat of the king's table. I paralleled that with our lives here in North America. We have so much at our disposal to fatten our hearts so that we are numbed to the laws, decrees and statutes of the Lord. We fatten ourselves through our endless consumption of goods and in effect cause other lands to be in want. We fatten our hearts through the things that we allow ourselves to watch - we can ingest hours and hours of T.V., video games, computer stuff and barely tolerate 1/2 an hour a day in God's word. I could go on and on but I won't.
Suffice it to say this little verse has pierced my heart. I hope it does yours as well.

Memorizing Bible Verses

We started a Bible memorizing system at our corps with Warrior Academy and The War College and so on, and we want to invite you to join us.

We're doing only one a week. The reason we're only doing one a week is that 20 years from now you've got a thousand verses, and that is a lot of verses to review.

Today I noted on that blog that you can pick up a DVD of the teaching and exercise of Harp and Bowl as last week's ACC conference (a SA event in Melbourne). It is a very successful experiment, relying on the spiritual and musical acumen of the singers as well as the wisdom of the leader. It is worth the watch (might be beautiful for next year at TSOMAGA?).

Treasure wisdom

I love Proverbs 1 and 2. Listen to some of the gems that are uncovered for us there:
"My son or daughter, if you will receive my words
And treasure my commandments within you,
Make your ear attentive to wisdom,
Incline your heart to understanding;
For if you cry out for discernment,
Lift your voice for understanding...
Then you will discern the fear of the Lord."
(Proverbs 2:1-22 -read the whole thing in your Bible.)

I work with a lot of people whose lives have been devastated by bad choices. Over and over again they have chosen a path that leads to death rather than life.
When I was younger I did exactly the same thing. I often rejected the wisdom that my parents had taught me. I rebelled against God's command and did whatever I liked. These things always looked good to begin with. They were fun, exciting but at then end I often ended up feeling dirty, guilty and empty.
I remember one thing in particular. My mom didn't want me going to dances. I bugged her until finally she said, "If you want to go fine, but you go without my blessing." So I went over and over again to dances. Eventually - not too long into it I ended up drinking and involved with guys in an unhealthy way. This went on for probably a couple of years until I returned to the Lord and repented of all the stuff I was involved with because it was killing me spiritually and robbing me of the destiny that God had for me. My mom's wisdom was right I just chose to reject it.
Years later I went back to my mom and dad a repented for rejecting their wisdom and dishonoring them. I went and washed their feet and blessed them as my parents. They had given me a Godly, righteous inheritance that I had sold like Esau as a young person but in grace the Lord allowed me to reclaim through repentance.
Many of us have been given the treasure of a Godly, Righteous Inheritance. Let's not blow it on what doesn't satisfy.
I see daily the devastation of bad choices and walking down paths that lead to death. Beware! Be on Guard! Keep to the narrow path that leads to life.

BREAD ON THE WATER

It's day 2 of the Days of Awe. The next 8 days (there are 10 Days of Awe) are used for contemplation, prayer and reflection. It's a time of preparation for the Day of Atonement.
Much of the Bible contains physical acts to convey a spiritual meaning. One of the activities during this fall feast period is to allow the Lord to identify areas or acts in your life that you need to repent of. Then go to a place where there is water and throw pieces of bread into the water. Each piece of bread symbolizes a sin in your life that you are repenting for and asking God to forgive, cleanse and heal. Usually there are some birds around who come and eat up your bread deposits symboizing that He removes your sin from you.
Sometimes we do the same exercise with rocks because our sin can be so weighty.
Don't be tempted to read this and think,"that sounds good" or just file it away. Actually do it. You'll be surprised how God meets with you in this action.

Sound the trumpet!!!

The trumpet blast sounds the alarm to get our attention and wake us up from the mundane pattern of our lives.
SO here's a trumpet blast - ========= How have you been doing spiritually since territorial? Have you returned to old patterns, old ways????
Right now is the beginning of the Fall feasts that the Lord made known to the people of Israel during their time in the desert. See Leviticus 23 for more details.
The first of the fall feasts is Rosh Hashanah - or the feast of trumpets. The trumpet is sounded to alert the people that the day of atonement is approaching - 10 days away. During this time the people make themselves ready through self examination, repentance, making restitution to those they have wronged. It is a real time of cleaning house or temple...
This is a great spiritual discipline or exercise for us all. Take these next 10 days of awe - following in the pattern or blue print set by the Lord for His people and engage in some serious sanctification.
Take the next 10 days to shake yourself out of the old and re-establish yourself in the new!

Friday Night Lights

Hi everyone,

Still looking for a way to join the revolution? How about spending that time at a diverse and fun drop-in? I belong to 614 St. Jamestown, Toronto. On Friday nights we play host to a youth drop-in. From ping-pong to capture the flag, we have a variety of things to do.

Unfortunately with last years Ignite team moving on, we have had a large drop in volunteers. Our drop-in runs from 7-10pm on Friday nights. If you could only spare an hour or two, that would be plenty.

DAILY CHALLENGE

How about doing a random act of kindness today?
I was hanging out in the Provincial Courts today. Talk about a harvest field ready for reaping. Any way, I saw before me countless opportunities for random acts of kindness. It could also be called mercy evangelism. Do the kindness and you never know what opps will be presented to talk about our favorite person - Jesus!

No Chairs. Hallelujah!

Our church is moving, so this Sunday will be our last worship experience in our old space.

The chairs will already be packed up.

Our pastor has given me permission to introduce worship by speaking about the extraordinary worship we've experienced three years running at Territorial (see my links below). One of the most freeing things about Territorial worship was that we shoved the chairs to the side and didn't let them get between us and God. Danielle encouraged us to kneel if we sing that we kneel, bow if we sing that we bow, raise our hands if we sing that. In short, to make worship a whole body experience. When we do that we naturally have a greater connection to the One we're worshipping. He created our minds, hearts, voices and bodies and communication is only 7% words.

Please pray the the Holy Spirit visits our community in a fresh way.

I've been stirred lately by the writings of Jim Elliot. He was a young missionary to the Auca Indians in 1956. He and his evangelistic team were savagely killed while trying to introduce the tribe to Jesus. In later years his wife would return to this people group to continue her husband's work of introducing these lost souls to the Messiah.
Here's a prayer from a book of excertps of Jim Elliot's diary, "Shadow of the Almighty", "Father, make of me a crisis man. Bring those I contact to decision. Let me not be a milepost on a single road; make me a fork, that men must turn one way or another on facing Christ in me." (p. 59) GOOD PRAYER... Another of his heart's cry was, "Lord make my way prosperous, not that I achieve high station, but that my life may be an exhibit to the value of knowing God." (p. 13)

Jim's life is an inspiration. From a young age he set his heart on pilgrimmage and never looked back. He's an example to us today.
Thank the Lord for such as these who show us how to walk the narrow road.

Do you still have your elastic band? If not why not hook yourself up with one for the day or the week and practice using your tongue for blessing and not cursing right where you live. You've done it at camp. Now do it at home. You may shock those you live with and your friends at school by the difference!

Well, Sharon gets props for weighing in on the hunger blog. I know there are others out there who also need to blog - get on it!

I received an email the other day from someone who attended music camp. They wrote about how easy it is to forget all the spiritual food that was downloaded at Territorial and just lapse back in to the same old rut and lifestyle.
LET IT NOT BE!!!!
The challenge is before us all this year not to shrink back or slip into our old lives. Remember the smashing of idols? Remember the cutting of covenant? Remember putting things on the cross? Remember the rocks that are to serve as markers as to who we are and what our spiritual destinies are.
Let us not sell our birthrights for a stinking pot of stew. Let's use this year to practice what we've learned over the summer. To grow and mature and cast off our immaturity.
We have declared it's a new day! We are new creations! AND we have a new mission!

Speaking of Hunger...

The times I get the biggest cravings to know more about God are the times when I'm serving him.

I know I've talked with some of you about artsy ministry ideas, and how God's really put it on my heart to move in action on those things this year... so I thought I'd post an update (or an intro, for those of you I didn't get to talk to!)

I'm starting up an arts collective, where youth and mentors can work together to fight for things that matter to God - like hope, and justice, and freedom.

The first project/scheme (Project Golden Gifts) will provide opportunities for the youth to design and create a piece of clothing, an accessory, or anything else to sell on behalf of a cause that they are passionate about (e.g. you could spend 5 hours on a shirt, sell it for $50, and the money would go to the S.A.'s Africa Disaster Fund, or towards a project fighting human trafficking). The art exhibition and sale would be held in December around Christmas - so people can buy the stuff and know that they are really giving presents to Jesus this year.

There's going to be an information meeting for potential mentors on Friday Sept. 29 at 7pm, and another meeting for youth on Friday Oct. 13th (all at North York Temple). So to all of you who live in the T-dot, It would be super if you guys could come out. Even if you don't have any time to commit, it would be great to know that you're supporting the project. I know that this is one area we can all struggle with. So let's encourage one another. Could others blog on how they have come to have an appetite for God and spiritual things?
I've been reading a book about a guy named Jim Elliot. He was martyred in his early 20's while trying to evangelize the Auca Indians. They were an unreached people group. This guy had a huge spiritual hunger in his early teens. As I read his journal entries and think about other young people who have been enflamed with holy passion I wonder, "How do we awaken spiritual hunger in others? " "How is spiritual hunger awaken in you?"

What are you hungry for?
I imagine a banquet that is set out before us. There are the super healthy foods. Food that have been around from the beginning... apples, oranges, tomatos, bananas, kiwis, passion fruit.... Then there's some chocolate, nachos, popcorn laced with butter, dill pickle chips... Where do you start? I guess some times it depends on the mood, the time of day...
The other day I was with a group of young people and while we were together I noticed a whole bunch of different appetites at work. The hunger for friends, hunger for attention, hunger for movies, hunger for things, things and more things. The one hunger I distinctly missed seeing was the hunger for God and His kingdom. They were being filled up with so many other things that they didn't have an appetite for the King and His banquet table.
It is such a discipline to train ourselves to eat properly. Once we learn to have an appetite for healthy things our desire for the empty calories begins to lose its grip. When I train myself to seek Him first I begin to develop the desire for more of Him. The more I eat of Him the more I want.
He invites us daily to the banquet table:
"Say there! Is anyone thirsty? Come and drink - even if you have no money! Come, take your choice of wine and milk - it's all free! WHy spend your money on foodstuffs that don't give you strength? Why pay for groceries that don't do you any good? Listen and I'll tell you where to get good food that fattens up the soul!
Come to me with your ears wide open. Listen, for the life of your soul is at stake..." (Isaiah 55:1-2)

Here is another brand new album- PASSION FOR SOULS by Cloudy House Music (guys from SA outpost PraiseWorks!): Passion For Souls is our first release under Cloudy House Music. We started at the beginning of the summer and finished it in August. It features songs written by Lincoln Hawk and Mark Hood, with MArk handling the producing. We were able to call on a bunch of our "sally" friends to play, sing, and engineer in order to get it done, which was a HUGE blessing. God was definately opening doors for us. We did most all of the recording in Mark's home studio. We did live drums with Chris Taylor at Crossroad studio. Linc's song "Die Everyday", as well as all the mixing and mastering were also done there. C.T. is sooo cool!! The artwork, which I think is fantastic, was done by Fulton Hawk, who also set up this my space. Anyway we had a lot of fun making the record and we hope it helps ya to worship well!

it's really cool when...

So I was out on a prayer walk in my neighbourhood last night. Usually I don't stay with the group as I can't focus that long or walk that slow. However, last night I did my best. The leader decided to go to a less frequented and almost darker area of the neighbourhood that I'm not sure I've even been to for prayer walk. We were praying by a community centre when a drug dealer that we had passed came over and started talking to us about prayer and how much the neighbourhood and he needed it. I always love when they come talk to us but this guy talked longer than usual and then actually stayed for the prayer part. Also, as we started to pray another guy rode by on his bike and asked for prayer and rode away - not uncommon but what was uncommon was that he rode to the end of the street about 50m and then came back and joined in our prayer then simply rode away again. I just think it's really cool that God is taking our neighbourhood back and I encourage you to start or join a prayer walk in your neighbourhood - they really are cool and you never know who you can meet.

Tickets are $10 (General Admission) and avaliable at the door or from Music & Gospel Arts in advance.
We had to change the venue for this very late in the day (as in last night) so if you can't make it yourself, tell your friends. Tell your family. Tell your enemies even!

Read something amazing this morning in my devotions. Check this out:

How crazy is that?! They rejoice because they were persecuted! I can definitely say I have not reached that point in my walk yet, I still curse at the alarm clock...

Waking Up to THE DREAM

just talking with a bunch of university students this morning... we were talking about the 'pull' towards complacency and settling in our lives...

here's something I'd like to challenge you with:
1. how are you staying 'awake' to the dream of Revolution.... send in real practical ideas to encourage and spur one another on.
2. how are you aligning your life with the poor? please tell me some specifics... I spoke with many of you before you left Territorial and you were quite serious about connecting with some 'social' things in your neighbourhoods.... tell me something you've done - it would really encourage me and probably help some others reading along.

I know things are busy getting into the swing of things with school and all.... but go against the grain.

Wow.
Art Dean is officially home from the hospital.
Everybody is shocked! The doctor's cannot believe it. God is so much bigger then doctors.
Thank you to everybody, I know the faculty prayed for him in their devotions, and that means so much to him and our family. I was talking to my grandma on the phone this morning, and she was tearing out of pure joy. We serve a mighty God.

Wanna change a life?

Hey guys, I need help and since many of you committed to standing up for others I figured this was the group to ask. I help run children's programs for the Salvation Army Corps 614 in Regent Park Toronto. We run about 10-15 kids groups and a few teen groups as well as mentoring programs, etc. However, to run programs effectively for about 150 kids we need leaders. These kids are amazing and they really love God and we have many more in the neighbourhood asking to join but we are filled to capacity. I am seeking anyone who lives in the Toronto area to prayerfully consider this wonderful opportunity to tell kids that God loves them and be a part of their lives. I chose to come to the neighbourhood 4 years ago and God has changed my life so much. It only takes a few hours a week and I guarentee your life and the lives of the kids you encounter will be different. As much as Kirk and I joked about this year, this idea that Shakespeare created while talking about the Band of Brothers is something that we should all take to heart. This is talking about going all in, full out, death and glory together.

The bible is so full of analogies about working together. Two favorites of mine are first the preach about being the body of Christ. One person is a hand, the other a nose and how we are to work in beautiful harmony together. And God, being that crazy guy he is, models it for us everyday. The Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit and the ultimate example of true and utter community. Each has their own wonderful and important purpose, purposes which we can neither live without or ignore.

The community we built at camp is a wonderful thing, in fact, it's a Holy thing. We are commanded to do it. The best part is that it doesn't end with us. You see, there is no cut off number, there is no overflow room. The "room" is big enough for everyone. This community of love is what this revolution is about.

Picture Thursday night of camp. Now picture the whole world, every person you see engaging fully into that intense worship of the LORD.

That is the vision I have of this world and that is truly a revolution.

Camp was amazing, something I will cherish forever, but it's only the beginning.

I've been praying for you guys every day since Territorial has ended... praying that the revolution would begin through your lives...

some advice from having done this before:
get an accountability partner.
find a group of young worship types to hang with once a month
READ YOUR BIBLE
practise spiritual breathing and listening prayer...
go hang out with some poor people (remember that lesson on protecting ourselves from being Pharisees)

these things can really help change your life.
Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus... run the race like you mean it... read Heb. 12 and give it some thought.

I would just like to say a huge thank you on behalf of all campers to the faculty of Territorials. Thank you for taking a week out of your life to hang out with a bunch of crazy people to teach us how to change the world. Thank you for encouraging us in who God is and who we are in Him. Thank you for supporting us in creating something new, in making new covenants, smashing idols and everything else you were there for us in. We really appreciate all that you taught us musically and gospel artsy but mostly what you taught us about God and that you prayed for us -thank you especially to the small group leaders for this. Thank you to Danielle and Steve for teaching us and equiping us for Revolution. I personally learned a lot last week and had my life changed and I know many people can say the same thing.
We really appreciate you and pray that you will be refreshed as you have refreshed us. (Proverbs 11:25)

How goes the Revolution?

Well its now been 4 days since Territorial and it already seems so long ago. But its not that long ago and it DID happen! People's lives have been changed, like Matt headed out to the War College and Art Dean heading home! Praise the Lord.

How has God changed you since Territorial? It doesn't matter how small or big the change or transformation, but let hear it. Are you starting the revolution by speaking words of life and wearing your elastic band or is it a goodness revolution that you're starting, where you go out of your way to be kind to each other? (This may be an example of what I'm trying to do... :0) )

Read the Revo Devos we got, its full of examples about how 1 or 2 people started revolutions all over the place. Revolutions don't always start with tons of people with the same vision, but with a couple people. This is what has happened to us, we've had a great experience at camp and now we've been sent out, to fulfill the calling on our life to win the world for Jesus. And its going to be tough at times (like maybe now) but the lie that might be rolling around in your head full of doubt, telling you that you can't make a difference is...well a lie. Its not true, remember those truths we decreed over each other? Keep saying them.

Here's a few :

I am a child of God.
I am a new creation in Christ; old things have passed away and all things have become new.
I am God's workmanship, created in Christ for good works.
I am a citizen of heaven.
Because Christ has set me free, I am free indeed.

What a great week last week was! I loved the worship, meeting new friends and singing. But due to all this, I'm now sick and have a very very soar throat. I need some prayers of healing because I don't want to start my first week of university off being sick and unable to go to any classes.
Also, if I could get some prayers for living in a very unchristian environment. I can feel Satan's temptations already, but I'm not going to give in. I'm going to get invovled in a christian club on campus and start pushing myself to get out there and help save some people. I just need some courage to do this, so prayers for that would be awesome!

Hey- I know soldiers covenant was a bit of a topic this year at TSOMAGA and I thought that I might help with the doctrines- they are easy and important to memorize as they summarize our orthodox beliefs. Here's one:

We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments were given by inspiration of God and that they only constitute the divine rule of Christian faith and practice.
----
Now, in combination with daily Bible reading, prayer, discipleship, and some other neat stuff, learning and living the doctrines (11 of them) will be profitable stuff for the life of a revolutionist.

Hey everyone!
Just putting this out there and seeing what bounces back... If there were to be a more advanced TSOMAGA online community (as in a specific website) what features would you like to see? Obviously a photo gallery, blog and chatrooms, but what else?
Also, because I'm REALLY bad with names, please include your full names on these posts, because I don't remember everyone by their first names! (It's the old age kicking in!)

Prayer Request

Hello everyone, I have a big prayer request. I have a lead for some money so I can go to The War College. I am going to see them tomorrow(Tuesday). I really don't know what to ask other than, if God is going to get me to the college, this is probably the only way I'm going to get there this year. All prayers will be helpful.

Lord of the Harvest....

Scarborough Citadel was hopping last night - Commissioner Christine sealed the committment of the generations to ensure what has begun will continue.

Our house was hopping last night - final good-byes, prayers, solidifying of learnings, exchange of emails, even more probing questions. A raucous crowd ready to disperse "through this land".

The last of the overnight crowd has vacated the home, airport runs complete, more good conversation.

Key things in the heavenlies were unlocked this week, miracles happened. Don't think we could take much more - we soak in, marinate, process, respond and live out the revelation.

We pray for holy wisdom, courage, patience as we respond. Our land needs it, our Army needs it, our corps need it.

It was REAL - and he is able to keep that which we've commmitted to him. He's able to do more than we can ask, think, or imagine.

The best is yet to come....Hallelujah

Wow! Rich times at Scarborough Citadel last night! Hallelujah.

There were several highs- I loved the bass trombone in the final A Band piece; the drum solo by Ryan; and the command encore by the mass chorus at the end. But there were many more.

It was such a thrill to bring drama to Territorial for the third year.

Whew! It is 1:15 am on Saturday. This thing is almost over (just breakfast/toga, prayer, bus ride, rations, pizza, set up, sound check, mass chorus, rehearsals, supper, prayer, worship blow out, fond farewells...).
This thing is about to begin. Here's to the revolution!
